Collection Container/Tube: Blue top (3.2% buffered sodium citrate)
Submission Container/Tube: Plastic vial
Specimen Volume: 2 mL Plasma
Collection Instructions:
1. Do not draw from an arm with a heparin lock or heparinized catheter.
2. Draw blood in a blue-top tube containing 3.2% buffered sodium citrate.
3. Mix immediately by gently inverting at least 6 times.
4. Centrifuge, aliquot plasma into a plastic vial, being careful not to disturb the cells, and freeze immediately.
5. Send frozen.
Note: Critical frozen. Separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered.
